October 21: Grand Launch and Housing
The October 21 Grand Launch opened Classic World to everyone, bringing the new housing system into the game.Players can purchase a house in Henesys or Kerning City after reaching Citizenship Grade 2 in the corresponding town. Housing provides more than a place to decorate: Nexon also showed functional furniture, including storage and crafting-related features.
This gives Citizenship another reason to matter beyond its existing town benefits. Players interested in housing should work on their citizenship progression rather than treating it as an optional side activity.
October 28: Halloween Event
The Halloween update introduced seasonal activities, including Malady’s Halloween Candies quest and Orange Slimes appearing in several towns.Players could work toward Halloween rewards, including the Pumpkin Basket. These activities are part of the launch-period content and are scheduled to run until November 18.
November 18: Forgotten Hollow Opens
<escape> </escape>Forgotten Hollow is one of the most anticipated additions to Classic World in 2026. It is a new hunting area designed for characters around levels 39–59, giving players another progression destination beyond the existing Victoria Island maps.
The update is expected to include:
New hunting maps: Forgotten Hollow expands the world with new areas connected to Ellinia and Sleepywood.
Level range: Monsters are designed for characters around levels 39–59.
Rotten Mushmom: A new field boss awaits players in the deeper part of the area.
New story content: The area explores storylines involving Manji, the Dark Lord, and other familiar characters.
For players approaching level 40, this update offers a new place to train and explore instead of repeatedly farming the same familiar maps. The November update also brings back Moon Bunny’s Rice Cake Party Quest for characters level 11 and above. Unlike a permanent addition, this is a seasonal Thanksgiving activity expected to run from mid-November into early December.
December 9: Guilds, Forgotten Hollow PQ, and Happyville
The December update focuses on social gameplay and seasonal content.Feature
What Players Can Expect
Guild System
Create a guild with friends in Lith Harbor and make a guild mark
Forgotten Hollow Party Quest
A new party quest designed for level 41+ characters
Happyville
The return of the Christmas-themed town
Christmas Events
Seasonal quests and activities
The guild system is particularly important for players who want to build a regular group for training, party quests, and future boss content. Guilds will be created in Lith Harbor, making the process more accessible than the original MapleStory experience, where guild creation was associated with Ossyria. However, the December rollout should not be confused with a complete guild feature set. Nexon has mentioned additional possibilities, including guild houses, as future expansions rather than confirmed December launch features.
Happyville is another welcome addition for longtime players. Its return brings a familiar Christmas atmosphere to Classic World, along with seasonal events and quests.
What Is Coming to MapleStory Classic World in 2027?
The 2027 plans are especially interesting because they point toward larger changes to character progression and endgame activities.1. 3rd Job Advancement Test Server
<badge color=”success”>Planned for early 2027</badge>One of the biggest announcements was the plan to open a 3rd Job test server in early 2027.
Third Job Advancement is a major milestone in classic MapleStory progression. It introduces new skills and gives each character class more ways to develop its combat style.
Nexon wants to collect player feedback and refine the experience before bringing the feature to the live game. This means the early 2027 target refers to the test server, not necessarily the full release.
There is currently no confirmed live release date for 3rd Job Advancement. Players should wait for further announcements before planning around a specific launch day.
2. Ossyria, Orbis, and El Nath
Ossyria is another major piece of content players are waiting for. The roadmap indicates that the world will expand beyond its current areas, with familiar destinations such as Orbis and El Nath among the anticipated additions. These locations are important to classic MapleStory exploration and progression. Their arrival could open new maps, monsters, quests, and travel routes.
However, Nexon has not announced a confirmed release date for Ossyria, Orbis, or El Nath. Treat them as future plans rather than guaranteed early-2027 updates.
3. Archon: The First Boss Raid
Nexon also revealed that it is preparing Archon, Classic World’s first boss raid. This is an important development because it suggests the game is moving toward more organized group challenges beyond regular field bosses and five-player party quests.
The exact encounter mechanics, recommended level, group size, rewards, and release date have not been confirmed. For now, players can focus on leveling, improving their equipment, and building relationships with other players before more demanding group content arrives.
How Should Players Prepare for the Upcoming Updates?
You do not need to rush every milestone, but a little preparation can make the upcoming content easier to enjoy.Reach level 39 or higher: This puts you in range for Forgotten Hollow’s new hunting content.
Prepare for level 41+ party content: Find reliable teammates before the new Forgotten Hollow Party Quest arrives.
Work on Citizenship: Housing is tied to Citizenship Grade 2 in Henesys or Kerning City.
Build a social network: Guilds and future boss raids will make cooperation increasingly valuable.
Manage your Mesos: Keep enough currency for potions, equipment, repairs, and other progression expenses.
If you are considering third-party currency services, be aware that Nexon has introduced a Debt System targeting accounts involved in real-money trading and unfair transactions. Restrictions can affect trading and other account functions. SSEGold offers cheap MapleStory Classic World Mesos page, but players should carefully review Nexon’s current rules and enforcement policies before considering any off-platform transaction.Final Thoughts
The MapleStory Classic World roadmap shows that Nexon intends to expand the game gradually rather than release every major feature at once. The rest of 2026 brings Forgotten Hollow, guilds, new party quests, and seasonal events, while 2027 is expected to focus on 3rd Job testing, the first boss raid, and further world expansion. For now, the most useful approach is to keep progressing your character, prepare for the upcoming level requirements, and follow official announcements for changes to the schedule. The biggest milestones are still ahead, and the way Nexon handles player feedback during the 3rd Job test could be especially important for the game’s future.
